Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Berean mobile application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Berean is a Bible reading app featuring the English Standard Version (ESV) text, text-to-speech audio playback, multiple speed-reading modes, and an AI-powered voice Q&A feature. The App offers both free and subscription-based features.

Accounts

You may create an account using Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or use the App as a guest. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Guest accounts have limited functionality and data may not persist across devices.

Subscriptions & Billing

• Berean Pro is available as a subscription with a 7-day free trial.
• Payment is processed through Apple’s App Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
• Pricing may change. We will notify you in advance of any price changes.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the App, including but not limited to: attempting to reverse-engineer the App, abusing the AI Q&A system, or using the service for any unlawful purpose.

Intellectual Property

The Berean app, its design, and original content are our property and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

AI-Generated Content

Responses from the voice Q&A feature are generated by artificial intelligence and may not always be accurate or complete. AI responses should not be treated as authoritative theological counsel. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

Limitation of Liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the App.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
